A BRIEF RESUME OF SHRI G.C.KANUNGA, MANAGING DIRECTOR, ALCOBEX METALS LIMITED, JODHPUR

Shri G.C.Kanunga was born in 1936 in village Sivana of Rajasthan. He had his early education in Chennai and passed high school in the year 1953. He is a proud alumnus of Madras Christian college. He joined his family-trading firm engaged in the sale of imported goods.

Back in Kolkata he was the first to manufacture anodized aluminum jewellery

Having gained valuable experience of trade and industry, he set-up Alcobex Metals at Jodhpur in 1964. It was started with a modest capital investment of about Rs.10 lacs, Over time Alcobex Metals Ltd. developed as a leading manufacturer of copper and copper alloys extruded products i.e. rods, tubes, pipes, sections of different types. He developed an export market in 52 countries including USA, UK, France, Germany among other developed and underdeveloped countries. Besides being actively engaged in industry & entrepreneurship, he has taken active and keen interest in social services. In appreciation of his valuable social services, the Hon’ble Former President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma felicitated Shri G.C. Kanunga in 1992. But above all, he assiduously worked to set up more than half a dozen educational institutions for girls and boys both. Shri Kanunga has been an active member and office bearer of large number of professional bodies.

A man with a mission to serve the society: Shri GC Kanunga (22nd February 1936) is a true icon. He spent most of his childhood and youth in the city of Madras (Chennai), proud alumnus of A.G. Jain High School and Madras Christian College. He believes in hard work, persistence and destiny. He feels that one life is not enough for his social work, hence he wants to achieve maximum out of it.
He has been a voracious reader since a very young age, and he understands that education is the only way, by which we can change the thinking process of the society and make each individual independent. With this goal in mind he sowed the seeds of two schools Badalchand Sugankanwar and Mahaveer Public School. Both these schools are under the aegis of “Bhagwan Mahaveer Shikshan Sansthan” and focus on helping students build a better future for themselves & for the society at large.
At that time city of Jodhpur was in urgent need of a good educational institute, MPS, with its planned infrastructure, well designed play grounds and strategic location, proved to be blessing. The schools imparts proper guidance and right learning opportunities, by better understanding the basic requirements of the students in a constantly changing world. The school is able to strive and ignite the spirit of equality and curiosity.
The motto of the school is truly “Gyaan,Shakti,Srijan” which mean "The creator of Knowledge and power".
